Indian Premier League is gearing up for the second phase of its 14th edition after being suspended halfway due to a rise in Covid 19 cases in India. The second phase is scheduled to start from September 19 in the UAE. Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi will host the remaining 31 games.

As IPL begins in just a few days, let’s look at the players who scored the highest individual and team score in the history of IPL so far.

Chris Gayle – 175*

Chris Gayle is known for his brutal batting. His power-hitting knows no boundaries.  On April 23, 2013, while playing against Pune Warriors India, Chris Gayle created history with his unbeaten 175. He hammered the quickest century with a 30-ball hundred in IPL history. The self-proclaimed Universal Boss made a mockery of Pune bowlers and cleared the ropes and roofs to guide Royal Challengers Bangalore to 263/5. With 17 sixes, Gaye registered the highest Individual score, fastest century and most sixes in an IPL inning. It’s been eight years now, and the record is still unbroken. Gayle stands tall in the highest individual score list with 66 balls 175 not out. We wonder if anyone will come close to Gayle Storm!

Brendon McCullum – 158*

The inaugural match of IPL season 1 saw Brendon McCullum at his destructive best. McCullum not only gave a gigantic start to IPL but changed the cricketing landscape with his thunderous batting. Chinnaswamy Stadium witnessed great IPL innings from Brendon McCullum playing for Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

A B De Villiers – 133*

Be it any shot, a ramp, a scoop, a reverse sweep – there’s nothing AB didn’t play. His contribution to RCB over all these years is unmatched.
